Job Summary:

The Business & Data Analyst is responsible for analysing market trends, financial performance, and operational data to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The role involves conducting industry research, collecting and interpreting data, developing reports and dashboards, and recommending improvements to help the company enhance performance, efficiency, and long-term growth. The analyst will work across multiple departments—such as Finance, IT, and Business Development—while also evaluating company strategies to guide business planning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Industry & Market Analysis

  • Conduct research on industry trends, developments, and competitive landscapes.

  • Analyse sales, financial performance, and strategies of companies.

  • Produce reports that include industry overviews, insights, and data-driven recommendations.

  • Identify opportunities for growth and improvement based on market data.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Gather, validate, and interpret large datasets from internal systems and external sources.

  • Build dashboards, charts, and reports to present insights to executives and stakeholders.

  • Design and develop reporting solutions in collaboration with business users.

  • Lead analytics activities, including data preparation, cleansing, and quality improvement.

Business Strategy & Process Improvement

  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve company efficiency and operational processes.

  • Assist management in defining business goals, needs, and strategic initiatives.

  • Implement system changes and enhancements to support business intelligence processes.

  • Identify opportunities to optimise data flows, reporting processes, and automation.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Take ownership of project deliverables and ensure timely completion.

  • Organise and participate in stakeholder meetings across departments.

  • Develop training materials and support end-users in understanding new system tools.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • MBA/Master’s degree preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Technology, Business, Data Analytics, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Industry Analyst, Business Analyst, or Data Analyst.

  • Proven ability to deliver accurate insights under deadlines with high productivity.

  • Experience in handling multi-disciplinary projects and managing multiple priorities.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Excel skills (Advanced level preferred).

  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, analysis tools, and relational databases.

  • Experience with Dynamics BC or Dynamics 365 is an advantage.

  • Ability to design, build, and test reporting solutions and system enhancements.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
